Faith That Overcomes the World
Dale & Rena Mae McDonald | Atlin Family Church
Welcome, and thank you for joining us.
We are Dale & Rena Mae McDonald, co‑pastors of Atlin Family Church, and we are so glad you’re here.
Today’s message centers on an essential truth for every believer: knowing who we are in Christ and what faith has already accomplished on our behalf. This teaching is titled “Faith That Overcomes the World.”
Knowing Who We Are in Christ
God is not distant or unreachable. He is present, personal, and active in the lives of those who are in Christ. When we are born again, we are translated into a different kingdom — the Kingdom of God. We are no longer outsiders; we are children of God, members of His family, and participants in His divine life.
This reality changes everything.
The Bible describes God’s Word as a mirror. When we look into Scripture, we see who we truly are — not defined by the world, circumstances, emotions, or fear — but by Christ Himself.
Faith That Overcomes a Changing World
We live in a rapidly changing world where voices grow louder and pressure increases. Culture attempts to reshape truth, redefine values, and dictate what we should believe. Scripture tells us clearly that this would happen.
Yet the Word of God never changes. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Staying grounded in Scripture brings stability, clarity, and strength. As believers, we do not think the way the world thinks — we think according to the Word of God.
Scripture: 1 John 5:4–5 (NKJV)
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
Being born again does not merely make you a church attendee — it places you into God’s family. As believers, we are overcomers by faith, not by our own strength.
More Than Conquerors Through Christ
Romans 8:37–39 (NKJV)
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us…
Nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God ...
