Transition Update, Engaged Faith Teaching & Local Church Launch

With Pastors Dale & Rena Mae McDonald

Welcome to Atlin Family Church Online. We’re Dale & Rena Mae McDonald, co‑pastors of Atlin Family Church, and we’re excited to share an important update about a transition season we are currently walking through.

Today’s message focuses on where we’ve been, where God has led us, and where we’re going next—both online and locally here in Atlin, British Columbia.

A Season of Transition

From the very beginning, God directed us to start online first. Although our hearts have always been for a local church, we followed His leading step by step. Starting online allowed us to establish a foundation through teaching, administration, and digital platforms before moving into a physical gathering.

This transition has unfolded in God’s perfect timing. Sometimes God gives the big picture first, then reveals the steps along the way—and that’s exactly what He has done with us.

What Is “Engaged Faith”?

Engaged Faith is more than a title—it’s a call to action.

Faith is not passive. Scripture tells us that every believer has been given a measure of faith, but faith must be engaged, activated, and applied. When we take God at His Word and act on it, we begin to see real change in our lives.

Faith grows by hearing the Word of God and by applying it daily.

God Desires Relationship, Not Religion

God’s greatest desire is relationship—not rules, fear, or religious performance.

He is not angry with you. He loves you exactly where you are. Many people have been hurt by religion or misrepresented teachings about God’s nature, but Scripture reveals a loving, faithful, and present God who wants to walk with you personally.

We believe:

  • God still heals
  • God still speaks
  • God still provides
  • God still works through people today

The Bible has never changed, and neither has Jesus.

Faith That Works in Real Life

Faith is not based on feelings or experiences—it is based on God’s Word.

Scripture teaches that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. When we apply faith to God’s promises rather than our circumstances, outcomes change.

God’s Word speaks to every area of life:

  • Relationships
  • Finances
  • Healing
  • Direction
  • Purpose

Faith requires action, consistency, and trust—but God’s grace always comes first.

The Power of Hearing God’s Word

Faith grows by hearing the Word of God repeatedly. As we read, meditate, and apply Scripture, God begins to speak into our daily lives. He meets us where we are and communicates in ways we can understand.

Christian growth is not about earning God’s approval—it’s about growing closer to Him.

A Heart for Healing & Restoration

We recognize that many people—especially Indigenous communities—have experienced deep hurt through religious systems that misrepresented God’s heart. Abuse, control, and fear are not from God.

Our desire is to walk with people in truth, healing, and relationship, reflecting God’s true nature as revealed in Scripture.
