The New You

Steps Toward The New You

Pastor Dale McDonald of Atlin Family Church teaches a step-by-step Christian message about spiritual growth, starting with being born again and moving beyond that first decision.

The episode matters because he teaches that many believers stop at the beginning or first step and miss the fullness of what God has for them.

He explains how faith, renewal of the mind, the Holy Spirit, and the authority that Jesus gave us, born again believers all work together in the believer’s life. He also prays with listeners who want to become born again for the first time.

Key topics

In this episode, Dale frames the Christian life as a journey of steps toward  “The new You,” not a one-time event.

He contrasts self improvement systems that cost money with the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

He reads John 3:3 to 7 and Acts 4:12 to explain being born again is step one in Christianity.

He leads a salvation prayer for listeners who have never committed their heart to Jesus.

He emphasizes that believers are not alone because the Holy Spirit lives within them.

He teaches that the mind and flesh do not automatically change, so renewal and training are required.

He points to 2 Corinthians 5:17 to describe the believer, as a new creation.

He says the born-again believer has access to the authority and power of Jesus’ name.

He connects the church with all born again believers, not a building, and says ministry is for every believer.

He presents the baptism in the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, as an important next step after salvation.

He encourages believers to expect the same kind of results the early church saw, including healing, deliverance, and miracles.

He closes by inviting listeners to continue taking steps, ask questions, and join Atlin Family Church for Bible study or Sunday service.
